Award Reflects Joint Market Success and Collaboration on New Mobile Technology

WATERLOO, Ontario, Feb. 8, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Descartes Systems Group (Nasdaq:DSGX) (TSX:DSG), the global leader in uniting logistics-intensive businesses in commerce, announced that it was awarded the 2011 Intermec ISV Innovator of the Year Award for the United States. Of the numerous independent software vendors (ISVs) that Intermec partners with, the Descartes/Intermec alliance was chosen based on 2011 performance. As part of the alliance, customers can leverage Intermec's mobile technology and Descartes' comprehensive Routing, Mobile and Telematics suite to address a wide range of challenges faced by fleet managers.

"Descartes won this award based on their sales wins in conjunction with Intermec and their efforts in teaming with Intermec on marketing outreach activities including a creative inside sales campaign," said Andy Stento, Senior Director, Global Alliances at Intermec Technologies. "Other significant factors included their on-going commitment to testing, optimizing and leading with Intermec rugged mobile solutions and their recent integration of Intermec's Verdex software as a complementary component of their comprehensive Routing, Mobile and Telematics suite."

Part of Descartes' Logistics Technology Platform, Descartes' Routing, Mobile and Telematics suite offers one of the industry's most comprehensive set of fleet management solutions. The software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions provide optimized route planning, GPS-enabled route execution and telematics-based driver and vehicle performance and regulatory reporting. The suite allows customers to reduce fleet costs, improve customer service, gain better control of drivers in the field, better understand vehicle and product conditions, and help comply with governmental regulations such as the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's Compliance, Safety and Accountability initiative.

"We are honored to receive this award signifying our successful collaboration serving our customers and the market," said Robert Beauchemin, EVP Sales and Alliances Descartes. "We are constantly striving to offer our customers the most comprehensive and innovative fleet management solutions, and we're pleased that our alliance with Intermec allows us to provide them with best-in-class commercial grade mobility solutions."

"This year's winners personify the values of Intermec's PartnerNet network and were recognized for their dedication to delivering exceptional solutions to our end customers and enhancing their overall supply chain investments," said Scott Anderson, Intermec Vice President of Global Channels. "I offer my sincere congratulations to all of the winners globally and look forward to continuing our strong channel momentum in 2012."
