NEW YORK, Feb. 8, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- WisdomTree Investments, Inc. (Nasdaq:WETF), an exchange-traded fund sponsor and asset manager, today announced the closing of its previously announced underwritten public offering of shares of its common stock. A total of 16,516,587 shares were sold in the offering at $5.61 per share, before underwriting discounts and commissions. The company sold 1,000,000 shares and certain selling stockholders of WisdomTree sold 15,516,587 shares, including 2,154,336 shares sold by certain selling stockholders pursuant to the full exercise of the underwriters' option to purchase additional shares. WisdomTree intends to use the net proceeds from the shares it sold for working capital and general corporate purposes. The company will not receive any proceeds from sales by the selling stockholders.
BofA Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley acted as joint book-running managers for the offering. Barclays Capital, Citigroup, UBS Investment Bank, Piper Jaffray, Sandler O'Neill + Partners, L.P., and Sterne Agee acted as co-managers for the offering.
