Empire Post Media Joint Ventures With 180 Films Inc. for Film and TV Projects Based on 'Custer's Fall'

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 13, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Empire Post Media, Inc. (OTCBB:EMPM) and Portland-based One-Eighty Films Inc. have formed a joint venture to develop and produce several different entertainment products based on the book by David Humphreys Miller, "Custer's Fall: The Indian Side of the Story."  Production work on a promo reel and a script has already begun.

"Custer's Fall," an astonishing reconstruction of the bloodiest day in the history of the western frontier, based upon 22 years of research and interviews that Miller began in 1935 with 71 Indians who actually fought in the battle, including the chief who takes credit for Custer's death.

The result is an illuminating and controversial account of the 1876 Battle of the Little Big Horn, as told by the victors-- the only survivors of the event.   Empire and One-Eighty plan to develop film, TV and educational projects that cover the Indian wars from the end of the Civil War through the 1890 Wounded Knee massacre.

One-Eighty Films, and its sister company X Factor Advertising, has produced advertising campaigns in 12 countries for Fortune 500 companies, as well as for the United States government. Productions include  pilots for numerous reality television shows.  One Eighty Films also financed and produced a feature film, "Everyman's War," which won Best Narrative Feature at the 2009 G.I. Film Festival in Washington D.C.

Empire's supervising producer Brian Trenchard Smith will be working on "Custer's Fall" with One-Eighty Films and X Factor owner Thad Smith and his team. Trenchard Smith has directed 42 feature films, many in the action-adventure and war genres. Thad Smith, in addition to his advertising work, is an experienced filmmaker in his own right, having directed and executive produced "Everyman's War."
