Cross Match Adds Seasoned Sales Professionals


PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., March 2, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cross Match Technologies, Inc., a global provider of biometric identity solutions, announced that it has completed the realignment of its global sales team; adding several seasoned sales leaders and senior account managers to its ranks at a time of rapid growth opportunities.

The worldwide sales team is part of the newly formed Global Solutions organization, under the direction of senior vice president and general manager, Glenn Hickok. Reporting to Hickok are new hires Robert Calamia, Brian O'Connor, Mark Belen, and Chip Merrill, as well as Roxana Tellex through internal promotion.

Calamia joins as vice president, global services and is responsible for developing and growing the Cross Match services portfolio. He has 15 years of sales and operational leadership experience, having worked with USIS, the largest provider of background investigations for the federal government. Calamia led a field force of over 2,500 investigators and served as deputy program manager and primary point of contact for Office of Personnel Management's federal investigations programs.

O'Connor joins as director, federal, state, and local law enforcement, and will be further developing Cross Match's channel strategy to accelerate growth and improve market penetration of hardware, software, and services solutions. He has 25 years of experience in the secure document and ID management industry, having previously held key management positions with Danaher, DeLaRue, Datacard Group, and most recently, Daon Trusted Identity Services.

Tellex has been promoted to director, sales engineering from her previous role as director of software development. Tellex is responsible for global coordination of customer facing, pre-sales technical resources and maintaining an effective and productive "critical link" between sales and engineering resources. She joined Cross Match in 2004.

Belen joins as senior account manager focused on the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Previously with Oracle Corporation and L1 Identity Solutions, he has a strong history of selling to, and managing, DHS and Department of Defense accounts.

Merrill joins as senior account manager focused on the Department of Defense. He previously worked with FLIR Systems as a business development manager for U.S. Army and USSOCOM programs and with EMC as an enterprise sales account manager (U.S. Navy). A Navy Reservist, Merrill was mobilized to Iraq in 2010, serving on the U.S. Forces Iraq staff in Baghdad for a year.
