On 27 April 2012, a second chartered ship will be deployed on the Calais-Dover route.
With the deployment of a second ship on the route, frequency will be doubled to 10 daily departures from each port ensuring an attractive service and schedule for both freight customers and passengers.
The new ship, BARFLEUR, was built in 1992 and will be renamed before entering service. The ship has capacity for 1,212 passengers and 550 cars and a freight capacity of 1,530 lanemetres. She will fly the French flag and be operated by a French crew.
The Calais-Dover route is operated in a partnership with Louis Dreyfus Armateurs.
