Autonomic Becomes a Red Hat Certified Cloud Provider

Cloud Collaboration With Red Hat Allows Autonomic Resources to Expand Their Reach Into the Federal Market

CARY, N.C., March 27, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Autonomic Resources announced that it has joined the Red Hat Cloud ecosystem as a Certified Cloud Provider in the federal community. Red Hat Certified Cloud Providers have to meet business, operational, and technical requirements to be able to offer Red Hat solutions under cloud-appropriate business models and are backed by Red Hat support relationships.

Autonomic Resources Cloud Platform (ARC-P) is a government-only elastic compute environment that meets the NIST criteria for what is considered "cloud computing." The combination of shifting budgetary targets, conditional funding streams, and cloud first / future first policy initiatives has driven the need for utility based computing. One of the key benefits identified in the governments cloud computing initiative is the reduced overhaul of software and hardware every few years, removing political, budgetary and integration headaches.

"Extending our relationship with Red Hat into the cloud was a desired and natural fit for Autonomic. Red Hat is clearly a leader in open standards and as open, portable, and flexible clouds continue to be key to adoption, we see compelling value in our work with Red Hat," said John Keese, President at Autonomic Resources.

Red Hat Certified Cloud Providers offer a trusted destination for Red Hat customers, ISVs, and collaborators to use Red Hat technologies in public clouds and deliver a safe, scalable, supported, and consistent environment for enterprise cloud deployments.

"Red Hat and Autonomic Resources have worked closely together on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization and JBoss Enterprise Middleware for many years and we take this collaboration to the next level by extending our reach into the cloud today. Together, we will bring an open choice to our joint federal customers as we offer the ability to plan, build and manage clouds more easily with Red Hat and Autonomic Resources," said Paul Smith, Vice President and general manager, Public Sector at Red Hat.
