Action Alerts PLUS Charitable Trust Portfolio of TheStreet's Jim Cramer Will Donate 2011 Trading Profits of Over $300,000

Total Donations From Action Alerts PLUS Charitable Trust Portfolio Will Now Exceed $1.5 Million

NEW YORK, March 29, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- TheStreet (Nasdaq:TST), a leading digital financial media company, today announced that the charitable trust of James Cramer, TheStreet's founder and chief markets commentator, will be donating more than $300,000 from the trust's 2011 trading profits.

Since the inception of Mr. Cramer's charitable trust, which is known by the name of service that chronicles its every move, Action Alerts PLUS (www.actionalertsplus.com), the trust now will have given away trading profits of more than $1.5 million. Trading profits donated each year consist of the charitable trust's realized capital gains, dividends and net interest income.

"When I started this experiment by placing $3 million in a charitable trust and then telling Action Alerts PLUS subscribers my buys and sells before I executed the trades as an exercise in showing how institutional money is managed, I never expected my trust would be able to have benefitted so many worthwhile charities over the years," said Mr. Cramer.

"I just wanted to play with an open hand to teach others how it all works," Mr. Cramer continued. "I am so glad that by generating its 2011 trading profits, my charitable trust is able to help support worthy causes at this time when so many charities are facing challenges," Mr. Cramer concluded.

A truly unique service, TheStreet's Action Alerts PLUS service allows subscribers to receive advance notice of the actual trading of Mr. Cramer's charitable trust portfolio, together with an explanation of why every trade is being made. The service allows subscribers to trade alongside Mr. Cramer, deepen their knowledge of the markets and strengthen their investing skills.
