YIT TO IMPLEMENT A RESIDENTIAL BUILDING PROJECT OF 360 FLATS IN CENTRAL ST. PETERSBURG, RUSSIA

YIT has started selling flats in several new locations in St. Petersburg, Russia. YIT is building a Suomi (= Finland) residential building complex on Vasili island in the historic centre of St Petersburg and its fifth and sixth block of flats in the Vyborgskiy district.

The Suomi residential building complex, comprising 360 flats in total, is crescent-shaped and borders the yard that extends up to the park to the south. It includes a 10-storey building that will be home to comfort category flats, and a nine-storey building that will have business category flats, the ceiling height of which will be more than three metres. The joint facilities of the buildings will be finished to the highest standard and will include premium materials by European manufacturers. The complex is expected to be completed in January 2015.

"The Suomi residential building complex is substantially different from other YIT projects in that it consists of two buildings whose flats are included in different segments. One building has comfort category flats, and the other has business flats compliant with the best practices of Finnish construction. In addition, this building is located in the city's historic district," says Mihail Vozijanov, CEO of ZAO YIT Sankt-Peterburg.

"Our goal is to increase our construction volumes by implementing comfort category projects in different districts in St. Petersburg, and business and elite category projects in the city centre," says Mr Vozijanov.

Comfort category locations in the Vyborgskiy district

YIT builds comfort category locations in St Petersburg in the Vyborgskiy district, for example. YIT has started to sell flats in the comfort category block of flats (nine storeys) built near Udelny Park. The Kostromskoi building will have a total of 198 flats, office premises and an underground parking garage for 48 vehicles. The building is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2013. In addition, YIT is currently building a block of flats called Solo, which will have 187 flats. It is scheduled for completion in November 2013, and its sales are already in progress.

The Vyborgskiy is one of the city's oldest, largest and greenest areas. There are several parks there, and it has good services and transport connections. YIT has implemented construction projects in the area since 2005. A total of four YIT-built blocks of flats and more than 1,800 flats have already been completed in the area.

YIT sells the flats to be built in Vyborgskiy and Vasili island either as filler surfaced or with finished surfaces, which means that the customer may select their desired surface materials. The yards will have modern playgrounds for children, recreational areas for adults, and sport areas for the whole family. The building design is accessible for people with reduced mobility.
