Adept Technology Celebrates Third Annual National Robotics Week


PLEASANTON, Calif., April 4, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Adept Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:ADEP), a leading provider of intelligent robots and autonomous mobile solutions, is excited to once again be joining the celebration for the third annual National Robotics Week from April 9 – 17, 2012. The nation-wide event brings attention to the importance of robotics education, research, and innovation for an entire week through community events hosted around the country, coast to coast. This year, Adept will be participating in the Stanford Robot Block Party on Wednesday, April 11th and at the Boston Museum of Science Robot Block Party on Saturday, April 14th.

Adept and Silicon Valley Robotics are coordinating the third annual Robot Block Party, which will be located at Stanford University on Wednesday, April 11. This event will showcase cutting-edge robotics technology from leading robotics companies, schools, and organizations from throughout the Bay Area. Adept will be highlighting advancements in its intelligent mobile platform technology, including the Adept Courier which is used for moving materials around hospitals and factories.

On the east coast, Adept will also be at the Boston Museum of Science's Robot Block Party on Saturday, April 14th. Visitors will hear experts discuss how robots will impact the future of healthcare, the home, agriculture, safety, and national security. Museum visitors will meet the Adept MT400 robot up close and personal, and can meet the humans at Adept who design and build the mobile robots. This all-ages event is open to those with an Exhibit Halls admission.
