Echologics Names James E. Fisher Manager of Non-Revenue Water Services

ATLANTA, April 18, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Echologics, a division of Mueller Co. and a developer and leading provider of acoustic-based technologies for water loss management, leak detection, and pipe condition assessment, has named James E. Fisher, manager of Non-Revenue Water (NRW) Services.

Fisher will focus on leveraging Echologics' acoustic-based leak detection and condition assessment expertise to help municipalities identify and mitigate points of NRW loss in their water systems. NRW is water that has been treated and is "lost" before it reaches the customer through leaks, theft or metering inaccuracies.

A member of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Water Loss Task Force and Customer Metering Practices Committees, Fisher has more than 38 years of experience in the water and wastewater industry and has held positions in water and wastewater treatment plant operations, maintenance, collection and distribution systems in both the public and private sectors.

"Non-revenue water is responsible for annual global losses of approximately $141 billion," said Marc Bracken, Vice President and General Manager of Echologics. "Fisher's research and expertise has contributed significantly to advancing knowledge relating to the causes and effects of non-revenue water. His expertise is a great asset to Echologics, as it will help us to further enhance and develop our non-revenue water service offering."

Prior to joining Echologics, Fisher held senior project management, engineering and marketing roles at various organizations, including ADS Environmental Services, JBS Associates, Radcom Technologies and Pitometer Associates Engineers. He also worked for Professional Services Group (PSG) as a wastewater treatment operator and a field supervisor for inflow and infiltrations (I/I) and sanitary sewer evaluation studies (SSES) conducted throughout the U.S.

Echologics pioneered the development of a proprietary, acoustic-based system that non-invasively locates leaks and assesses the structural condition of both water and force mains. Water service providers across North America and in Europe, South Africa, Asia and Australia have leveraged Echologics' technology to prioritize pipeline rehabilitation and replacement plans, and reduce water loss on all classes of pipes, for diameters ranging from 4" to 108". Mueller Co. and Echologics are subsidiaries of Mueller Water Products, Inc. (NYSE:MWA), a leading North American manufacturer and marketer of products and services that are used in the transmission, distribution and measurement of water.
