Measurement Specialties Announces Fourth Quarter and Fiscal Year 2012 Results for Sales & Bookings


HAMPTON, Va., April 23, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Measurement Specialties, Inc. (Nasdaq:MEAS), a global designer and manufacturer of sensors and sensor-based systems, announces results for bookings and sales for the fourth quarter and fiscal year ended March 31, 2012.

The Company announced today bookings and unaudited net sales for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2012 of approximately $87.1 million and $86.4 million, respectively. Fourth quarter unaudited net sales increased $9.7 million or 12.6% for the three months ended March 31, 2012, as compared to the corresponding period last year. Unaudited net sales increased $38.4 million or 14.0% to $313.2 million for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2012, as compared to the corresponding period last fiscal year. 

Frank Guidone, Company CEO commented, "We had a strong quarter, both in terms of sales and bookings. Our three-month and six-month book-to-bill ratios were solid coming in at 1.01 and 1.04, respectively. With the recent addition of Cosense, we have increased our FY13 net sales outlook to approximately $360 million."
