ATLANTA, April 30, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Telguard, a division of Telular Corporation (Nasdaq:WRLS), and a leader in alarm monitoring solutions and services, announces that the Telguard TG-7FS cellular alarm communicator for commercial fire is approved with the Hochiki FireNET™ family of panels for commercial fire installations. UL864 listed and dial capture-based, the TG-7FS gives Hochiki Engineered Systems Dealers (ESDs) a cellular alarm communications solution for new and existing customers both for sole path applications to eliminate landlines and save money or backup installations.
Compliant with section 26.6.3.1 of the 2010 Edition of NFPA72, the TG-7FS can serve as the primary communications path for commercial fire alarm systems, replacing all of the landlines customers currently dedicate to their master control unit. The TG-7FS offers dealers a true drop-in installation. It is dial capture-based so installation simply consists of unplugging the landline and plugging in the new cellular communicator. All other aspects of the system—from the master control unit through the central station—won't notice the difference.

On average, cellular monitoring costs the end user significantly less than a dedicated landline. For existing installations, all landlines can be swapped for a single TG-7FS because of the five-minute supervision mode. By installing the TG-7FS in place of landlines, security dealers now have a new source of RMR and commercial business owners pay a much smaller monthly charge for cellular monitoring.
