With Release 8 of the Android NDK now available from Google, natively developed Android applications can be easily brought to MIPS-Based™ devices. Today, most Android applications are completely portable and available for MIPS-Based Android devices. However, a small percentage of applications still benefit from native code for performance reasons. Application developers who choose to use native code can generate that code for execution on MIPS-Based Android devices simply by using this official Android NDK. The Android NDK Release 8 includes the required tools, system headers, libraries and debugging support for MIPS.
