Roosevelt Veterinary Center in Brewster Extends Service Hours to Meet Pet Owner Needs

BREWSTER, N.Y., May 10, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Roosevelt Veterinary Center in Brewster, NY announced that the center is offering expanded after-hours emergency and urgent pet care. The animal hospital will now be open until 8:00pm on Wednesdays. The veterinarians are also available for after-hour emergency assistance. The clinic provides comprehensive wellness services, including low-cost spay and neuter operations that are performed laparoscopically. Regular office hours are 8:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday and 9:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday.

Veterinarian Dr. Allison Glassman announced that Roosevelt Veterinary Center is offering expanded pet care hours. The practice is now open from 10:00am to 8:00pm on Wednesdays, in addition to the animal hospital's normal hours Monday through Saturday. Additionally, the clinic provides after-hours emergency and urgent care assistance.

"In response to overwhelming community requests, we are excited to announce our expanded care hours," said Dr. Glassman. "As an emergency vet, our primary goal is to provide accessible, compassionate care for pets in need. Expanding our regular hours, in addition to providing after-hours emergency assistance, is vital to our practice's mission."

Pet owners can speak with Dr. Glassman and fellow veterinarian Dr. Julianne Meisner during office hours to answer any pet care questions. The veterinarians can also be reached after-hours in the case of an urgent pet health emergency.

"We understand that many health emergencies happen after traditional office hours," said Dr. Glassman. "Additionally, it can be difficult for busy pet owners with demanding work schedules to make appointments during regular business hours. This is one reason why we have decided to expand our service hours. No matter the time of day, our veterinary care team is here to help by providing urgent care recommendations. "

During regular hours, the emergency vet hospital provides routine wellness care services, including annual exams, pet vaccinations, spay/neuter operations, and pet surgery. The practice also provides emergency and urgent pet care during office hours.

As part of the vet hospital's commitment to the Brewster pet community, the veterinarians also offer low-cost spay and neuter operations every Thursday. The practice also offers laparoscopic spay surgery, a minimally invasive operation that according to the animal hospital, reduces recovery time and surgical stress by up to 65%.

"Spaying or neutering a pet is an important way to reduce the unwanted animal community and the number of pets euthanized by shelters each year," said Dr. Meisner. "In order to make spaying and neutering more affordable given the recent economic downturn, we have lowered our prices while still maintain our high surgical service standards."

The clinic also provides Havahart traps, a free, compassionate system for catching feral cats that need to be spayed or neutered. Individuals who would like to learn more about these safe traps for catching feral neighborhood cats may visit the center's website at: http://www.rooseveltvet.com.

Pet owners who would like to schedule a routine visit with a veterinarian may do so by using the online appointment request form located on the practice's website. Roosevelt Veterinary Center was founded in 2005 and provides vet services including pet surgeries, vaccinations, spay and neuter procedures, and pet grooming to pet in Brewster and the surrounding communities.
