Nightly News With Brian Williams Highlights the Increasing Dangers of Colony Collapse Disorder

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., May 11, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- BeesFree, Inc. (OTCBB:BEES) reports that last night's news report by Brian Williams on NBC Nightly News highlighted the potential devastating effects of Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD). Mr. Williams referred to the mysterious disappearance of bees as a situation that is "as big and as urgent as any other, a story we have been talking about for a while. Something has been causing honeybees to disappear since about 2006. Beekeepers estimate their colonies are down 30%. Given all that bees do in the natural world, this could be catastrophic."

NBC Nightly News, crediting research conducted by Purdue University, indicated that neonicotinoids, a class of neuro-active insecticides chemically related to nicotine, may be the potential cause of CCD. On the news report, Dr. David Fischer, Bayer Cropscience Environmental Toxicologist, denied the connection between neonicotinoids and CCD, stating, "It doesn't cause Colony Collapse Disorder." Bayer and Minnesota officials are looking into reported honeybee deaths.

BeesFree, Inc. owns a patent pending honeybee composite food (BeesVita Plus™) and a unique delivery system (the Beespenser™) that are the only known products that help honeybees combat and avoid the effects of CCD. In field tests, BeesVita Plus™ not only prevented the effects of CCD, but also increased the target bee population by up to 25% annually while costing up to 65% less than what beekeepers are currently spending to maintain their colony population.

BeesFree CEO Mario Sforza stated, "Our technology continues to prove effective in preventing the effects of CCD. The fact that our solution costs less than replacing the affected bees is an added bonus for the beekeeper."
