Kratos Awarded $7.4 Million Requirements Contract to Provide the U.S. Navy With AN/ARA-63 Tactical Instrument Landing Systems for F/A-18E/F/G and E-2D Aircraft


SAN DIEGO, May 24, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:KTOS), a leading National Security Solutions provider, announced today that its Herley Industries, Inc. subsidiary has received an initial $4.1 million order under a multiple year requirements contract to supply Tactical Instrument Landing Systems ("TILS") for both the F/A-18E/F/G and E-2D Naval aircraft. An additional estimated $3.3 million requirement is projected for 2013.

The AN/ARA-63 TILS is a microwave landing system that provides precise elevation and azimuth guidance information necessary for critical aircraft carrier landings. The TILS began as an initial multi-year contract for the F/A-18E/F Boeing 'Super Hornet' and was expanded to cover the E/A-18G 'Growler' jammer aircraft and the E-2D 'Advanced Hawkeye' radar surveillance aircraft.
