LTX-Credence Announces the Selection of the ASLx Tester by Global Mixed-Mode Technology (GMT) for Consumer IC Testing

GMT to Use the ASLx for Testing Consumer Power and Analog ICs

NORWOOD, Mass., May 30, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LTX-Credence Corporation (Nasdaq:LTXC), a global provider of market focused, cost-optimized semiconductor test solutions, today announced that Global Mixed-Mode Technology (GMT), a leading provider of consumer power and analog ICs has selected the ASLx as its next generation test platform. GMT chose the ASLx for two reasons: its ability to deliver a lower cost of test compared to competitive solutions, and a broad set of instruments that provide full test coverage for the GMT device families.  GMT will install the ASLx systems at its own facilities and at its OSAT partners.

Davis Hsieh, vice president of manufacturing at GMT, commented, "Our in-depth evaluation demonstrated that ASLx provides significant performance and cost advantages over competitive solutions. In addition, due to the compatibility with our large existing fleet of ASL1000 systems, we gain additional cost savings through operational efficiencies and the re-use of test IP."

Steve Wigley, vice president of marketing at LTX-Credence, commented, "The analog and power semiconductor sector is a rapidly growing market and GMT is a major player in this space.  GMT's selection of the ASLx is validation that the ASLx delivers an industry leading cost optimized solution while also extending the capabilities and performance of the ASL1000.  The ASLx was also designed to allow ASL1000 customers, like GMT, to leverage their investment in applications hardware and software into a next generation platform. When combined with performance and cost, the ability to leverage existing applications hardware and software makes adoption of the ASLx tester an easy decision, and has led to its fast adoption in the analog and power market segment."
