Yandex Launches Music Player for iPhone


MOSCOW, May 30, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Yandex (Nasdaq:YNDX) has released a subscription music app for the iPhone. The app is integrated with the Yandex.Music service, which allows streaming from its online catalogue of more than three million tracks. Mobile users can also save their favourite compositions in the app for offline listening.

The mobile application complements the company's web-based Yandex.Music service. Users will be able to manage their playlists from any device – all changes are automatically synchronized between the app and desktop accounts.

The Yandex.Music app is available to users in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Kazakhstan, and can be downloaded from Apple's AppStore. After a free two-week trial period, the app's subscription fee is 199 roubles ($6.99) per month. The web-based service is free.

Yandex.Music is a free music streaming service offering access to licensed music published on the internet. As of May 2012, the service has more than three million tracks in its catalogue. Yandex.Music is available in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.
