MLB, Baseball Hall of Famers and Former All-Stars to Ring The NASDAQ Stock Market Opening Bell to Commemorate the 2012 First-Year Player Draft

What:

Major League Baseball, Baseball Hall of Famers and former MLB All-Stars will visit the NASDAQ MarketSite in Times Square on Monday, June 4th to ring the Opening Bell in commemoration of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft.

MLB will hold day one of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft later that evening at MLB Network's Studio 42 in Secaucus, New Jersey. The Draft will begin live on MLB Network and MLB.com at 7:00 p.m. (ET). Prior to the start of the Draft, MLB Network will air a Draft preview show, also simulcast on MLB.com, at 6:00 p.m. (ET). 

In honor of the occasion, the following Hall of Famers and Legends will ring the Opening Bell.

  • Joe Torre – Executive Vice President, Baseball Operations, Major League Baseball
  • Frank Robinson – Baseball Hall of Famer; Senior Advisor to Baseball Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig
  • Tommy Lasorda – Baseball Hall of Famer
  • Fergie Jenkins – Baseball Hall of Famer
  • Ivan Rodriguez – 14-Time MLB All-Star
  • Ron Cey – 6-Time MLB All-Star
