Wall Street Journal to Convene CFO Network to Develop a Strategic Agenda for Financial Leadership


NEW YORK, June 4, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Wall Street Journal announced today plans to convene leading chief financial officers, policy-makers and thought leaders for the annual meeting of its CFO Network. The invitation-only meeting will take place June 25-26 at the Park Hyatt in Washington, D.C.

The members of The Wall Street Journal CFO Network will build upon their work from last year by developing a strategic agenda for financial leadership in challenging times. The Network will meet both as a group and in interactive working sessions to develop solutions that address timely financial issues.

For the opening night session, American inventor Ray Kurzweil will participate in an on-stage interview with Wall Street Journal Deputy Managing Editor Alan Murray to discuss the frontiers of technology and how chief financial officers can harness the ever-accelerating pace of change.

In addition, the program of on-stage interviews includes Bill Ackman, founder and chief executive officer of Pershing Square Capital Management; Rep. David Camp, chair of the House Ways and Means Committee; Peter Hart, chairman, Peter D. Hart Research Associates; Hans Hoogervorst, chairman, International Accounting Standards Board; Bill McInturff, partner and co-founder, Public Opinion Strategies; David Rubenstein, co-founder, The Carlyle Group; Martin Sorrell, chief executive officer, WPP Group; Gene Sperling, director of the National Economic Council and assistant to the President for Economic Policy; and Axel Weber, chairman, UBS AG, and former president, Deutsche Bundesbank. After hearing from top government officials and business leaders, the group will deliberate on key challenges for corporate finance executives.
