Perceptive Pixel's 55" Multi-Touch Display is the Newest Addition to Their Professional Projected Capacitive Lineup

Ultra-Sleek Design With Corning(R) Gorilla(R) Glass is Stunning Yet Durable

NEW YORK, June 6, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Perceptive Pixel, the leading provider of advanced user interface solutions, debuts its 55" projected capacitive (pro-cap) display at InfoComm 2012, the top conference for the audiovisual communications industry, held in Las Vegas, Nevada. Perceptive Pixel's 55" multi-touch LCD is visually breathtaking with a high gloss, bezel-free design and ultra-slim form factor, measuring a mere 2.5 inches in depth. As with all the company's true multi-touch pro-cap displays, the 55" LCD handles an unlimited number of touch points and works in concert with up to three active styluses for a natural pen and touch experience. The unit is also optically bonded for near-zero parallax, eliminating the air gap that commonly causes inaccurate touches on other displays. As with the company's 82" pro-cap display, the new 55" LCD incorporates Corning Gorilla Glass for improved durability.

Perceptive Pixel is changing the way professionals collaborate, communicate and share information, enabling a more natural and intuitive human-computer interaction in industries as varied as defense and intelligence, local government, broadcast, design and energy. For audiovisual and communications professionals, touch interactivity has opened up new opportunities for collaboration, ideation and presentation in today's conference rooms and boardrooms.

Features of the 55" LCD include:

  • Slim LCD form factor
  • 1920 x 1080 full-HD resolution
  • Extremely reliable LED backlight
  • 120 Hz frame rate and direct drive video electronics for ultra-low latency
  • Overscan touch area to allow integration of advanced user interface elements, such as pop-out menus and toolbars
  • Built-in color correction with an easy-to-use interface
  • Remote network control capability. Works seamlessly with Crestron control systems
  • Thin, durable, damage resistant Corning Gorilla Glass

"With the introduction of our new 55" display, we now have a full pro-cap lineup, from desktop to wall-size, to enable fully interactive, rich and flexible collaboration, ideation, and presentation," said David Slobodin, VP hardware engineering at Perceptive Pixel. Slobodin adds: "Our new 55" multi-touch LCD strikes the perfect balance between large form factor for group presentations, and a mid-size solution for more intimate and creative collaboration in smaller teams -- all at an affordable price."

"We are excited to be collaborating with Perceptive Pixel in bringing innovative interactive solutions to market," said Dave Loeber, business director, Large Cover Glass, Corning.  Loeber adds: "Whether the display is hung on a wall or is built into a conference room table, the new 55" LCD with Corning Gorilla Glass is tough enough to handle every day wear and tear, while at the same time enhancing the advanced touch sensitivity and user experience that Perceptive Pixel is known for."
