4-Star Heathrow Hotel Adds Electric Car Charging Stations

LONDON--(Marketwire - Jun 15, 2012) - Visitors to the London Heathrow Marriott hotel recharging their batteries before or after a long flight can now recharge their cars too! This hotel near Heathrow Airport showed their commitment to environmental responsibilities by activating their two Electric Car Charging Stations on Friday, 27^th April.

The 4-star Heathrow hotel joined forces with car giant Renault along with Zero Carbon World who donated the Electric Charging Stations to the hotel, and demonstrated exactly how these stations worked.

The opening was attended by the Tesla Roadster, an electric supercar that can go 0-60mph in 3.7 seconds, plus two of Renault's latest electric offerings from their Z.E. range: the Fluence Z.E., an electric saloon, and the Kangoo Z.E., an electric van. Whilst the Tesla and the Kangoo took their positions by the charging stations in the car park, guests at the hotel could not believe their eyes as they were greeted by the Renault Fluence saloon, taking pride of place in the middle of the hotel lobby.

Zero Carbon World has donated charging stations to the hotel and leisure industry to support the development of a national charging infrastructure.
