Huntington Ingalls Industries Subsidiary AMSEC LLC Recognized by Weight Watchers for Losing One Ton of Weight

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., June 21, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE:HII) announced today that its AMSEC LLC subsidiary has been recognized by Weight Watchers for employees collectively losing one ton of weight.

Since beginning the Weight Watchers At Work program in May 2009, AMSEC employees have lost a combined total of 2,000 pounds. Employees attend Weight Watchers meetings once a week during their lunch break. Some employees have seen such positive results that they are permanently off blood pressure and cholesterol medications.

"This means three things," said Harris Leonard, HII vice president and president of AMSEC operations. "We are exercising, eating right and taking better care of ourselves."

Weight Watchers has always believed eating healthy is just one part of long-term weight management. A healthy body results from a healthy lifestyle — which means mental, emotional and physical health. Weight Watchers does not tell participants what they can or can't eat. It provides information, knowledge, tools and motivation to help participants make the decisions that are right for them about nutrition and exercise. It helps participants make healthy eating decisions and encourages them to enjoy themselves by becoming more active.
