Personal changes in the supervisory board

Members of the supervisory board, Dr. Kay Hafner and Mr. Ebbe Pelle
Jacobsen have resigned from their offices with effect as per the end of
today. This decision was made on the occasion of today's ordinary general
meeting of Praktiker AG. Dr. Hafner will remain in office as chairman of
the management board as contemplated until 13 August 2012.

The management board will apply to court for the appointment of two new
shareholder representatives on the supervisory board, Dr. Erhard F.
Grossnigg, Vienna, and Mr. Armin Burger, Vienna.

The supervisory board continues its already announced process to find
further candidates for the appointment as members of the management board.
Today, a consultation with the shareholders Semper Constantia and Maseltov
on persons considered by the supervisory board took place. Now contract
negotiations with these persons will be initiated. The company will inform
the public on the results of these negotiations in due course.
