NCC to construct office for Swedavia at Arlanda for SEK 480 million

NCC Construction Sweden has secured the assignment to construct a new office
building at Arlanda Airport. The client is Swedavia and the contract is
estimated to be valued at about SEK 480 million. The project will be conducted
as a partnering venture between NCC and Swedavia. Project planning will commence
immediately and the start of construction and order registration are scheduled
for the first quarter of 2013.
Order registration and the start of construction require the relevant official
permits and a final decision on investment by Swedavia.

The new office premises will be named Sense Building and will be part of Airport
City Stockholm. The goal of Airport City Stockholm is to achieve sustainable
urban development and a vibrant urban environment around Arlanda.

“Sense Building is an incredibly exciting project and it is very satisfying that
we have now selected NCC as the contractor,” says Jan Egenäs, President of
Swedavia Real Estate. “This is a major step toward our vision of a more vibrant
airport that provides companies and tenants with all of the benefits offered by
our unique communications location. The choice of contractor is a key milestone
in this project.”

The project will be conducted as a partnering venture. This is a structured form
of cooperation, in which the developer, consultants and contractors jointly
resolve the construction assignment. The method is based on open and trusting
cooperation, in which the parties’ professional knowledge is mutually beneficial
throughout all of the project phases.

“We will now have the possibility to continue our partnering work with Swedavia,
in which we can contribute our knowledge and experience of office buildings. We
are currently working on completion of the Clarion Hotel that is immediately
adjacent to the Sense Building,” says Lars Westman, Department Manager at NCC
Construction, Building Department, Stockholm Mälardalen Region.

Sense Building will have Breeam environmental classification. The project will
employ between 150 and 200 persons. The office building is scheduled for
completion in July 2015.
