SHANGHAI, China, July 10, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- RDA Microelectronics (Nasdaq:RDA) ("RDA Microelectronics" or the "Company"), a fabless semiconductor company that designs, develops and markets Radio Frequency (RF) and mixed-signal wireless SoC semiconductors for cellular, connectivity and broadcast applications, today announced its RDA8851 single-chip 55 nanometer baseband SoC, the most integrated and cost effective baseband for the high volume GSM/GPRS feature phone market.
The RDA8851 is a high performance, low cost SoC that integrates the baseband, quad-band RF transceiver, power management unit, Bluetooth, FM receiver, and class-K audio amplifier in a single-chip 55 nanometer design. The product's advanced integration also eliminates the need for the 32k crystal and SAW filter, while offering impressive connectivity for easy system scalability.
The RDA8851 is built around a high performance 32-bit XCPU RISC core that operates up to 312MHz for multimedia applications and also provides a proprietary 16/32-bit digital signal processing engine to further improve the overall performance and user experience for complex multimedia tasks.
