SCARSDALE, N.Y., July 15, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Scarsdale veterinarian Dr. Jason Siegelheim, DVM has joined Central Animal Hospital. A recent graduate of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Siegelheim has had extensive internships, including exotic medicine, during his veterinary training. Most recently, Dr. Siegelheim trained at Mid-Island Animal Hospital on Long Island and Animal Medical Center in NYC. Dr. Siegelheim will be the seventh veterinarian at Central Animal Hospital. Together with the current veterinarians, Dr. Siegelheim will provide routine wellness care for dogs, cats, birds, exotics and pocket pets.
Central Animal Hospital, serving the Westchester, White Plains, and surrounding communities, announced that the practice welcomed a new veterinarian to the team. Jason Siegelheim, DVM, has joined the veterinary hospital to further expand the hospital's exotic pet services.

While studying at the University of Florida, Dr. Siegelheim received extensive training in the latest veterinary care technology. He completed numerous internships and trained at Mid-Island Animal Hospital on Long Island and Animal Medical Center in NYC.
Dr. Siegelheim's professional interests include exotic animals and pocket pets, dermatology, radiology, neurology, and small animal medicine and surgery.
"Exotic veterinarians must be familiar with a wide range of exotic animals and their unique needs," said Dr. Woltz. "Dr. Siegelheim has clearly demonstrated this breadth of knowledge. He will be an important addition to our exotic vet care team."
Dr. Woltz also emphasized the importance of specialized veterinary care for pocket pets.

Dr. Siegelheim will be the seventh veterinarian serving the Scarsdale, Westchester and White Plains communities from Central Animal Hospital. Last fall, veterinarian Dr. Donatella Hecht joined the vet care team contributing a wealth of knowledge and experience from surrounding referral veterinary practices.
