Shelter-Kit offers an interesting way to save money building a new house, barn or garage

Tilton, NH, July 24, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- There are two different approaches people typically take in planning and building a new house, barn or garage. One approach is to hire an architect and contractor to design and construct the building, an expensive process that takes months. Architect's fees can be very high, especially for a custom building. Using a contractor can also be expensive and lead to further delays.

Another approach is for the owner to design, cut and construct the building themselves.  This approach often leads to errors, complications with building permits and structural issues. Designing the building, and then measuring, cutting and assembling the hundreds of pieces often takes more time than planned.  Mistakes in measuring or cutting can be costly in terms of time lost and materials wasted.

There is a third approach, developed by Shelter-Kit of Tilton, NH over 42 years ago.  Shelter-Kit designs and produces customized kit buildings specifically for people who want to assemble their building themselves, or possibly with a little professional assistance.  Shelter-Kit works with each customer to design a building that meets their specific requirements using standardized frame designs. This approach allows people to save a great deal of money on their project, and have the satisfaction of assembling their own building. Architects and contractors are not required for the project, saving thousands of dollars.

Shelter-Kit buildings are designed for assembly by amateurs, and provide the materials necessary to assemble a weather-tight shell, including roofing and hardware. Power tools, lifts or cranes are not required, as every piece is cut and/or drilled as required, and designed to be handled by one or two people. The house kits can be designed to allow for superior insulation. A detailed Construction Manual is included with each kit. Lead times are relatively short, to allow customers to meet their construction schedule.

Shelter-Kit will create a custom design, and produce that building as a do-it-yourself kit that meets the International Building Code.  Shelter-Kit can design a variety of custom one story, 1 ½ story and two-story buildings, accurately cut and label every piece of the kit and ship the kit to the building site. Deliveries are made to all 50 states, Canada and internationally.
