The National Aquarium Renews Partnership With Paciolan

Drives Sales Leveraging Paciolan's Online Ticketing System

IRVINE, CA and BALTIMORE, MD--(Marketwire - Aug 17, 2012) - Paciolan, a leading provider of ticketing, marketing, and fundraising solutions for museums and attractions, today announced that the National Aquarium has renewed its partnership with the company. Working with Paciolan since 1992, the National Aquarium will continue leveraging Paciolan's solutions, including its general admission and eVenue online ticketing system. The National Aquarium is a nonprofit aquatic education and conservation organization with locations in Baltimore, Md. and Washington, DC.

"We've been very happy with our partnership with Paciolan and the incredible support and strategic direction they've provided, which has enabled us to grow our business," said Chuck Spliedt, director of admissions, National Aquarium. "Paciolan's technology solutions give us the flexibility we need to accomplish our goals, while delivering additional services to our customers and creating a 'win-win' for everyone."

Working with Paciolan's e-commerce specialist, its client partner and leveraging the company's eVenue online ticketing system, the Aquarium recently revamped its website to create a seamless experience for customers and enable cross- sell and up-sell opportunities. This resulted in increased online sales, including 45 percent of all Immersion Tours and 25 percent of all "sleepover" events. The completely branded and hosted eVenue site allows the Aquarium to efficiently sell tickets in real-time, while managing its brand and enhancing the customer experience.

In addition to using eVenue to increase online ticket sales, the Aquarium also uses it to sell memberships of which 30 percent are purchased online. The Aquarium is also using eVenue to sell tickets at its newly launched second venue in Washington, DC.

"eVenue has consistently proven to be a great sales tool for us, and we couldn't be happier with the increased sales we've enjoyed since implementing it," added Spliedt.

The Aquarium uses "timed entry" to help manage its building and deliver a better guest experience. At peak times, it sells tickets every 15 minutes and develops promotions for slower, visiting periods to increase admissions.

"It's been wonderful to see the measurable progress the National Aquarium has made in achieving its goals through the use of our industry-leading solutions," said Dave Butler, chief executive officer of Paciolan. "We're excited to continue our partnership and work together to achieve ongoing success for them."

About the National Aquarium
The National Aquarium is a nonprofit aquatic education and conservation organization with two locations and one mission: to inspire conservation of the world's aquatic treasures. In 2003, separate aquariums in Baltimore, MD, and Washington, DC, joined as one "National Aquarium." The National Aquarium venues together hold living collections that include more than 16,000 animals from more than 660 species of fish, birds, amphibians, reptiles, and mammals living in award-winning, naturalistic habitats. Transforming experiences reach well beyond the Aquariums' walls. Education teams reach thousands of students each year with activities in schools and in the field; conservation crews and volunteers restore habitats and preserve species around the Chesapeake Bay and around the world; and the National Aquarium venues continue to serve as an economic engine for tourism in the city of Baltimore and as a unique draw in downtown Washington, DC. Through all of its work, the National Aquarium maintains its long-time commitment to serving the surrounding communities.
