Compuware Launches Project: Welcome Home to Put a Deserving Family in a New Home for the Holidays

Compuware Partners With Habitat for Humanity Detroit to Make a Wish Come True

DETROIT, Aug. 21, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq:CPWR), the technology performance company, has launched Project: Welcome Home. Through this project, Compuware will build a new home and make it possible for a deserving family to enjoy it in time for the holidays.

The project is a continuation of Compuware's Thanksgiving Day Parade program from last fall when the Compuware Elves collected wishes for the city of Detroit. While hundreds of wishes were submitted, one theme rang out clearly: the wish for a place to call home.

Through Project: Welcome Home, Compuware volunteers, in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity Detroit, will build a four-bedroom, one-bath ranch home in Detroit's Morningside Commons community. The home will be presented to the family fully furnished, mortgage-free for two years, complete with food in the refrigerator and gifts for the holiday season.

On Aug. 21, Compuware launches Project: Welcome Home at www.iWish4Detroit.com. At the site, families can apply for the new home and learn details about the project, including qualification criteria. Visitors can also forward the page to someone they know who might qualify. The application process closes September 5 with the final selection determined by September 15.

"For nearly 40 years, Compuware has made technology make a difference: for our customers, our employees and the community," explained Compuware CEO Bob Paul. "With Project: Welcome Home, we continue to make a difference on behalf of a deserving family that, in turn, will have the opportunity to better provide for themselves through a place to call home."

Once again, www.iWish4Detroit.com will be the web headquarters of the Compuware Elves. Via the site, visitors worldwide can submit their wishes for Detroit, vote on them and keep aware of the progress of the house's construction and the Elves' activities.

"Habitat Detroit is thrilled to partner with Compuware on Project: Welcome Home. Compuware's generosity will not only assist a family in achieving home ownership but also support us in the continuing revitalization of the Morningside Commons community," said Vincent Tilford, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Detroit.
