Bongo International Achieves Inc. 500 Ranking

BRIDGEPORT, Conn., Aug. 29, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Bongo International, LLC, announces their membership into the exclusive Inc. 500, coming in at number 289 out of nearly 7 million private, employee- based firms in the US. Inc. Magazine annually ranks America's fastest growers across all industries. While nearly half the winners had revenues between $2 million and $10 million, more than 50 took in over $1 billion. The Inc. 500 list recognizes entrepreneurs whose innovative business models and direction have taken their companies to new heights in terms of percentage revenue growth.

Bongo was founded in 2007 to assist both businesses and consumers in meeting the challenges involved in cross-border eCommerce. The organization supplies a means for international consumers to purchase goods on US websites they otherwise would be unable to purchase, either lacking international shipping options or the necessary payment methods. Merchant software solutions are also part of their product offering which serve as a method for US retailers to acquire international consumers they would otherwise have to turn away. The solutions themselves underscore the varying needs of online stores by offering specialized services. The business model is distinct in that it serves international consumers, US retailers, and now international retailers.

Bongo has experienced growth throughout all aspects of its business. The international consumer base well-exceeds 100,000 active consumers; over 3,000 US businesses utilize their merchant solutions; and they now operate on 3 continents (North America, Europe, South America). The distribution center locations have increased 2 fold in the US (CT, CA, FL), which is done in order to decrease transit time.

This year, Bongo has also attained the PCI Level 1 Certification (PCI-DSS).  This is the highest certification level for payment data security in the eCommerce industry. PCI-DSS represents a very strict set of requirements designed to ensure that companies who process, store or transmit credit card information are maintaining a secure environment. The PCI-DSS is independently driven by major credit card companies (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and JCB) to safeguard customer financial data. Compliance mandates that service providers meet and maintain stringent security benchmarks when they process and transmit cardholder information. More information on the council and standards can be found at http://www.pcisecuritystandards.org.

The Inc. 500 membership is the most recent achievement for Bongo. The prestigious award highlights the tremendous amount of work this organization has undertaken in 5 short years. For more information on Inc. 500 and Bongo International visit http://www.inc.com/inc5000/profile/bongo-international.
