Silvercorp AGM Rescheduled to Friday September 28, 2012; Board Proposes Approval of Stock Option Plan


VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 6, 2012) - Silvercorp Metals Inc. ("Silvercorp" or the "Company") (TSX:SVM)(NYSE:SVM) today announced that its annual general meeting originally scheduled for September 21, 2012 has been rescheduled to 10:00 am Pacific Time on Friday, September 28, 2012 in the Oceanview Suites 1 & 2 of the Pan Pacific Hotel, 999 Canada Place, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada V6C 3B5.

In addition to previous corporate matters set out in the Information Circular, dated August 17, 2012, the Company's board of directors has proposed the approval of the current stock option plan (the "Option Plan") which is unchanged from the previous Option Plan approved in 2009.
