The seminar will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2012, 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at The Blue, 310 West Wisconsin Ave., Milwaukee, WI. Free parking and lunch will be provided. Seminar speaker Pam Paziotopoulos, Senior Vice President, Workplace & Intimate Partner Violence, Forest Advisors, stated that historically, human resource and security departments were largely unprepared for violent or harassing behavior in the workplace and often reluctant to proactively create and implement policies and procedures dedicated to preventing such behavior. "Thankfully, times have changed and they now recognize the danger and damage that domestic violence can cause in the workplace," she said. "After all, domestic violence does not stay at home when its victims go to work. It follows them, resulting in violence where they work, often encompassing innocent bystanders. With one out of every three American women reporting physical abuse by an intimate partner according to the 2010 National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey, it seems certain that any organization has employees struggling with domestic violence."
