Smartronix Wins Contract Award From $2.5 Billion GSA BPA for Cloud-Based Email Services

RESTON, VA--(Marketwire - Oct 4, 2012) - Smartronix announced today that it received a contract award under the General Services Administration (GSA) $2.5 billion Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) to provide cloud-based email and collaboration services for Government. This award will allow Smartronix to act as one of a select number of companies to provide such services and solutions as email, electronic records management, cloud-based office automation, and migration and integration services to various Federal, state, local, and tribal Government entities.

Team Smartronix was formed for this effort through exclusive teaming relationships with Terremark, Verizon, Ensim, Synteractive, and Jorge. Each team member brings unique, best-in-class credentials to avail exceptional service and solution offerings to the Government. Terremark provides a world-class managed cloud infrastructure. Verizon is the largest provider of communications services to the United States Federal Government. Ensim is one of the largest providers of management platforms to Hosting Providers. Both Synteractive and Jorge bring niche skills specific to Microsoft technologies. Synteractive was the 2010 Microsoft Federal Partner of the Year and 2011 Finalist for Microsoft Worldwide Partner of the Year in Portals and Collaboration while Jorge has been a trusted partner for Smartronix, delivering enterprise Microsoft solutions to the USMC Network Operations Security Center.

Smartronix has a long-standing history of developing cloud-based solutions for the public sector. This is evidenced by the landmark solutions built for the re-designs of Recovery.gov and Treasury.gov, which were the first Federal and Cabinet-level agency Websites hosted in the public cloud. In addition, as a Microsoft Certified Gold Partner, Smartronix dedicates a significant portion of its business to providing industry-leading solutions around these technologies, specifically Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, and Office 365. As such, Microsoft technologies will be central to the solution delivery for this effort.

"Team Smartronix includes long established Microsoft Gold Partners with proven effectiveness in delivering Microsoft technologies at scale. We are excited they chose the Microsoft platform for this important BPA that can be used to deliver real value to Federal, state, local, and tribal Government entities," says Susie Adams, Federal CTO at Microsoft.

Smartronix Chief Financial Officer, Joe Gerczak, states, "Our greatest successes come as the result of bringing together the right organizations with a shared vision of what the customer needs. The team we have assembled includes pioneers in deploying Microsoft solutions in the cloud and we are proud of our track record in delivering secure, reliable, and cost-effective cloud solutions to our Government customers. We strive to continue building on that reputation."

Smartronix was awarded Lots 1, 2, 4, and 5 (Email, Office Automation, Migration, and Integration) for U.S.-based Government Community Cloud, Provider Furnished Private Cloud, and Secret Enclave.
