AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 7, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dessau Veterinary Clinic has partnered with the Pflugerville Animal Control and Humane Society to provide care for animals currently at the shelter. Veterinarians Dr. Kellee Campbell and Dr. Susan Waage work closely with the animal shelter to provide care for pets prior to their adoption. The animal clinic also works with the Pflugerville Pfurry Pfriends. This non-profit assists in the treatment of heartworm positive dogs, fosters dogs, cats and covers fees for adoptive pet owners. Dessau Veterinary Clinic is working to raise awareness about the importance of adopting and fostering animals in need.
Austin veterinarians Dr. Kellee Campbell and Dr. Susan Waage are working to educate prospective pet owners about the importance of adopting animals in need from the Pflugerville Animal Control and Humane Society.

Pflugerville Animal Control and Humane Society is a 90% no-kill shelter dedicated to providing a home for animals in need and advocating for their adoption. In support of the shelter's mission, Dessau Veterinary Clinic works with the shelter and local rescue groups to help animals in need find a forever home.
The Austin animal clinic also works with Pflugerville Pfurry Pfriends, a non-profit that helps cover the costs associated with treating heartworm positive dogs. The non-profit also helps to subsidize adoption fees for families adopting through the Pflugerville Animal Control and Humane Society. Additionally, the non-profit covers the cost of a trainer to work with shelter animals to manage behavioral issues.

Dessau Veterinary Clinic is also passionate in educating prospective pet owners about the dangers of puppy mills, and working to end this practice. The Austin animal clinic includes information about puppy mills on its website, as well as links for adopting animals in need.
