Allegiant Presents Grand Prize to Winner of Vote for Vacation Campaign

Four Years of Free Travel From Chicago Rockford International Airport

ROCKFORD, Ill., Oct. 9, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Allegiant (Nasdaq:ALGT) will present the winner of its month-long, cross-country campaign, Vote for Vacation, with the grand prize in a ceremony this morning, Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 11 a.m. at the Chicago Rockford International Airport (RFD) in the Observation Court of the Main Terminal.

Roger Babler, a Monticello, Wis. resident, was randomly selected at the conclusion of the campaign tour. Mr. Babler entered the contest on the Company's Facebook page. He has won four years of free travel on Allegiant (one round trip per month with a traveling companion). Allegiant has service from Chicago Rockford International Airport to Las Vegas, Phoenix / Mesa, Orlando / Sanford, and Tampa / St. Petersburg. The Greater Rockford Airport Authority is presenting Mr. Babler and his wife, Karen, with a gift and is hosting the reception at the airport.

"We are thrilled to award Mr. Babler with his ticket to four years of vacation," said Brian Davis, Director of Marketing for Allegiant. "Whoever our country votes for in November, the President won't be the only one who will have air transportation for the next four years. Our Vote for Vacation campaign tour was incredibly successful with more than 44,000 people signing up in person or online. It was a fun way to engage with our communities while reminding them of all of the affordable, convenient travel options Allegiant has to offer."

Allegiant asked cities throughout the country to Vote for Vacation as a diversion from the heated political campaign the country has faced throughout the summer and early fall. Three tour buses departed on Labor Day, Sept. 4, from Las Vegas, Mount Rushmore, and Washington, D.C. to kick off the month-long tour. The tour concluded Sept. 28 in the 77th city Allegiant visited, Wichita, Kan.

"We couldn't be happier that a Rockford area resident won the grand prize and will be taking vacations from Chicago Rockford International Airport," said RFD Marketing Manager Geoff Oman. "That's what makes Chicago Rockford International Airport so special – it's a low-cost carrier like Allegiant that goes to great destinations that continues to attract passengers not only from Rockford, but an expanding regional base that finds our airport a little easier and more pleasurable for their travel needs."

At each campaign stop, Allegiant invited residents to come to the polls to cast their vote for their favorite vacation destination. In each city, one lucky voter won two round trip tickets to the Allegiant destination they cast their vote for. Allegiant gave away vouchers for $21.60 to the first 100 people who attended the events – a special tax break – for use on a future vacation package with Allegiant. In addition Allegiant hosted "poll" events that included live radio remotes with games and prizes.

People who could not attend the events, like the grand prize winner, Mr. Babler, filled out "absentee ballots" online on Allegiant's Facebook page.
