Sanford Bishop Announces REALTOR(R) Endorsement for U.S. House Re-Election Bid

ATLANTA, Oct. 12, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- U.S. Representative Sanford Bishop announced an endorsement today from the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC), the political arm of the National Association of REALTORS®, following a unanimous recommendation for support from the Georgia REALTORS®' RPAC Trustees. In a statement, Georgia REALTORS®' Federal Political Coordinator Greg Dunn cited Congressman Bishop's hard work on housing issues during his tenure in Congress as the primary reason for their support.

"Congressman Bishop has been a strong leader for homeowners and he supports REALTORS®. He proved he was a champion for homeownership when he fought to protect the mortgage interest deduction by co-sponsoring a House Resolution that is so important to our industry," Dunn stated.

"Congressman Bishop further demonstrated his knowledge on issues impacting our industry when he joined an effort to stop proposed regulations that would impose a 20 percent down payment requirement for qualifying residential mortgages," Dunn continued. "In Congress, I have every confidence Representative Bishop will continue to stand up for homeowners and REALTORS® , and ensure our voice is heard."
