Mensch und Maschine Software SE discloses nine months report

22.10.2012 / 09:24

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Strong Q3 further accelerates profit dynamics
- Brisk VAR business / Net profit 87% above previous year
- Ambitious profit targets for 2012 confirmed

Wessling, October 22, 2012 - A strong third quarter helped Mensch und
Maschine Software SE (MUM - ISIN DE0006580806), a CAD/CAM specialist
company, to further accelerate the high profit dynamics from the first half
of fiscal year 2012. Nine month sales in the continued segments M+M
Software and VAR rose by 14% and 32% to EUR 23.86 mln (PY: 21.01) and EUR
64.44 mln (PY: 48.63), respectively. Operating profit EBITDA before
depreciation, amortization, interest and taxes increased to EUR 3.57 mln
(PY: 2.78 / +28%) and EUR 3.56 mln (PY: 1.37 / +160%), respectively.

Group EBITDA amounting to EUR 7.13 mln (PY: 6.21) was above previous year's
level, though group sales without the Distribution business, which was sold
in autumn 2011, nearly halved to EUR 88.30 mln (PY: 154.73). Compared to
the previous year's EUR 4.15 mln excluding Distribution, group EBITDA rose
by a sound 72%. Q3 alone contributed EUR 2.33 mln (PY: 1.34 / +74%) to
group EBITDA. Compared to the previous year's EUR 0.93 mln excluding
Distribution, the increase was as high as 151%. This was mainly driven by a
high demand for Autodesk software subscription renewals in the VAR business
before a price increase.

Due to the new business model's significantly higher added value, the
EBITDA margin in the group doubled to 8.1% (PY: 4.0%), while the gross
yield jumped to 52.1% (PY: 34.4%). As depreciation and amortization in
total remained nearly constant and the finance costs decreased
significantly, net profit after minority shares increased by 87% to EUR
2.55 mln (PY: 1.36), or 17 Cents (PY: 9) per share (undiluted). Compared to
the previous year's EUR 0.68 mln excluding Distribution, net profit nearly
quadrupled.

'The strong course of business in the first nine months 2012 represents a
good base to achieve the ambitious profit targets for the full fiscal year.
As a supporting measure, we focus on cost management, in order to be
prepared for an eventual short or mid-term slowdown of market demand' M+M
CEO Adi Drotleff comments. 'For the full 2012, we still target EBITDA at
approx. EUR 11.5 mln (PY: 9.1 operating incl. / 6.33 excl. Distribution)
and net profit around EUR 5 mln (PY: 2.4 operating incl. / 1.36 excl.
Distribution) or 30 Cents per share (PY: 16.5 operating incl. / 9 excl.
Distribution). If we achieve these targets, 30 Cents per share dividend
payment (+50%) is planned.'
