MUNDELEIN,Ill., Oct. 25, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- From new instrument reprocessing solutions and a new face mask that inactivates flu viruses to innovative surgical gloves and advances in anesthesia products, Medline Industries, Inc. is introducing a number of innovative solutions for ambulatory surgery centers at this week's annual Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Conference in Chicago.

Following are some of the new products Medline (booth number 29) will introduce and demonstrate at Becker's ASC Conference this week:

• Medisiss Surgical Instrument Reprocessing — Medline will be featuring Medisiss, a safe, proven reprocessing solution for single-use devices, which helps surgery centers lower costs and reduce waste.

• Medline's BioMask™ — With the flu season currently underway, health care workers can now benefit from a major breakthrough in flu protection. Medline's BioMask™, the first-ever FDA-cleared antiviral, antimicrobial medical face mask, is shown to inactivate 99.99 percent of laboratory tested flu viruses. This first-of-its-kind product marks the first true innovation in face masks in several decades. Traditional face masks act only as an air filter and do nothing to neutralize the harmful pathogens that remain active on the mask itself.
