HERNDON, Va., Nov. 1, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The U.S. Air Force has awarded Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) a contract to design, develop, test and qualify a replacement payload transporter system for the nation's intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) weapon system.
This program will provide a replacement for the existing payload transporter that is nearing the end of its design life. The contract is worth $39.7 million over four years.

The Northrop Grumman-led ICBM team has supported the Air Force in the overall sustainment of the weapon system including development, production, deployment and system modifications.
