no. 60/12 NASDAQ OMX Commodities confirms launch of German Day Futures, Estonian CfD, extension of Finnish and Swedish CfD curves, one sided combinations and enhancements to UK Spark Spread functionality on November 26, 2012

Lysaker, 2012-11-08 13:29 CET (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- NASDAQ OMX Commodities is pleased to confirm the coming launch of new Genium INET functionality and products. Genium INET will be upgraded to version 0220 during the weekend 24-25 November, 2012. The new features described below will be activated and made available for members from 26 November, 2012.

German Day Futures

The number of tradable series will vary between 3 and 9 depending on trading day. The product calendar has been updated to reflect the launch of these products.

Introduction of Estonian CfD

The Estonian forward curve covers 2 monthly, 3 quarterly and 3 yearly contracts. The instruments are referenced against the Estonian electricity spot price (EE) published by Nord Pool Spot. The product calendar has been updated to reflect the launch of these products.

Extension of Finnish and Swedish forward CfD curves

The Finnish and Swedish Forward CfD curves will now cover 4 monthly, 4 quarterly and 4 yearly contracts. The product calendar has been updated to reflect the launch of these products.

One-sided combinations

In order to trade an area price more efficiently a new type of combination order is introduced. The combination enables trading of system price contracts (referenced against the Nordic system price as published by Nord Pool Spot) and CfD contracts simultaneously.

The listing codes will follow the following structure:
SCSTOYR-13 = When placing a buy order in these combinations, the customer will buy e.g. ENOYR-13 + SYSTOYR-13
SCSTOYR-13 = When placing a sell order in these combinations, the customer will sell e.g. ENOYR-13 + SYSTOYR-13

Note that these standard combinations behave in the same way as other standard combinations and can be made available for all CfD contracts on member request.

UK Spark Spreads enhancements

UK market Spark Spreads functionality has now been enhanced with the ability to match combinations with underlying instruments.

SPAN file changes

SPAN file content will be affected by the introduction of the Estonian CfD as this will be considered as a new Risk Group.

NASDAQ OMX Commodities will introduce mandatory changes to the SPAN-File format.
NASDAQ OMX Commodities SPAN-File will have an increase of number of characters in the “Priority” Field from 3 to 6 in SPAN record type 11. Note that zeroes shall be used to fill the field. (Example priority = 1444): 1101340014440182030050010A012050011B
All users of the SPAN file are reminded of IT notice 56/12 for further technical details.
