NASDAQ OMX Iceland welcomes Eimskipafélag Íslands hf. to its Main Market

Reykjavik, 16 November, 2012 — NASDAQ OMX (NASDAQ: NDAQ) announces that the shares of Eimskipafélag Íslands hf. (ticker symbol: EIM) today start trading on the Main Market of NASDAQ OMX Iceland. Eimskipafélag Íslands (Eimskip) is a mid-cap company within the Industry sector. It is the fifth company to list on NASDAQ OMX Nordic main markets in 2012 and the second company to list on NASDAQ OMX Iceland in 2012.

Eimskip traces its roots back to 1914, making it the oldest shipping company in Iceland. Eimskip is a leading transportation company providing outstanding services through a dependable transport system in the North-Atlantic and an extensive worldwide network of reefer logistics services. The company runs a network of 49 offices in 17 countries and operates 17 vessels. Total number of employees is around 1,300, whereof around 750 are located in Iceland.
