REDONDO BEACH, Calif., Nov. 20, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) today announced that it has appointed Sunil Navale vice president, business management, for the company's Space Systems business area, effective Feb. 1, 2013.

In his new role, Navale will be responsible for financial and business administration activities for Space Systems, one of the four areas within the company's Aerospace Systems sector.

Navale joined the company in 1997 and has held a number of leadership positions in business management and technology development at the company's Aerospace Systems sector and its corporate headquarters. He most recently served as sector director of financial planning and reporting, and, previously, as corporate director of financial strategy and valuations.

Navale earned a master's degree in business administration from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he graduated as the Harold M. Williams Fellow and earned the J. Fred Weston Award for Academic Excellence in Finance. He earned a doctorate in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
