Startup Focused on Homeland Security Joins Science Center


PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 28, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The newest resident of the University City Science Center's Port Business Incubator is dedicated to providing products and services used for public safety, emergency response and homeland security. Tripwire Operations Group has taken lab space at the Hubert J. P. Schoemaker Center for Technology Advancement at 3624 Market Street in Philadelphia, Penn.

The Tripwire Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDTE) Program, Tripwire's newest division, will be conducting laboratory and field experiments in support of national defense applications for science and technology. In the lab, scientists, technicians, and operations specialists plan to carry out projects involving chemical synthesis and analysis. In the field, Tripwire RDTE investigates energetic events, hazardous materials, countermeasures and detection equipment.

Established in 2005 and based in Gettysburg, Penn, Tripwire serves hundreds of public agencies with training courses, training equipment and operational supplies. Tripwire offers both products and services to the defense industry as well as national and homeland security organizations.
