Phonoscope Talk Show Host Scott Cluthe Takes His Fight Against Dementia to the Streets of Houston

HOUSTON, Dec. 11, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Scott Cluthe, host of Phonoscope's "Positively Incorrect! TV" will speak at a networking luncheon on Wednesday, Dec. 12. At this luncheon, Cluthe will discuss the long term aspects of elder care and the complications of dealing with dementia. He will also speak on the use of video broadcasting and new media for education and marketing. Cluthe currently uses new media shown on websites such as Houston's Voice as a platform to inform the public on the impact of dementia. "With the tidal wave of people aging, this is only going to multiply." says Cluthe. "It's a major reality that people in this country have to face."

Cluthe's platform includes an interview with author and dementia expert Laura Wayman. Wayman states that often it is the personal care giver who passes away first, from factors such as high stress and depression, and that nearly half of people age 80 and above suffer from some form of dementia. Wayman's book, "A Loving Approach to Dementia Care," as well as her advice given on Cluthe's program aim to guide caregivers toward improved relationships with their loved ones.

Cluthe's presentation will take place at The Hampton at Shadowlake at 2835 Shadowbriar Drive, Houston, TX 77077 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. In addition to discussing dementia, Cluthe will describe Phonoscope's numerous services which include internet, data protection, carrier services, business cable, IP telephony, and video conferencing. Free lunch will be served during the event, and interested parties are required to RSVP with Susan McAdams at smcadams@brookdaleliving.com or 281-759-6700.
