Traffic Statistics November 2012

New monthly record at Copenhagen Airport

Passenger numbers rose 2.2% in November; the tenth monthly record at Copenhagen Airport this year. The year-to-date growth rate was 2.9%, implying that the annual passenger record from 2011 is about to be broken.

Close to 1.8 million passengers travelled through Copenhagen Airport in November, meaning that Copenhagen Airport set passenger records in ten out of the first eleven months this year. The growth drivers continue to be international and transfer traffic. Intercontinental traffic also continued to grow, while domestic traffic has stabilised at a lower level.

"The volume of domestic traffic remains significantly lower than in the record year of 2011. We have therefore intensified our partnership with the other Danish airports and the airlines to develop Danish domestic air traffic. Our goal is to build a demand for more frequencies on the various routes," said Thomas Woldbye, CEO of Copenhagen Airport.

With a total of 21.7 million passengers in the first eleven months of the year, Copenhagen is 1 million passengers short of setting new full-year record.
