The Procrastinator's Gift Guide: Last Minute Presents for the Car Nut in Your Life

Los Angeles, Calif., Dec. 20, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Have you put off buying holiday gifts until the last minute? Are you unsure what to get that car fanatic in your life? Luckily, that doesn't mean you have to give a mediocre and meaningless gift.  The Petersen Automotive Museum, located in the heart of Los Angeles on Wilshire and Fairfax - where automotive and shopping cultures collide - is the ideal place to pick up a few high-octane stocking stuffers for the car-obsessed.

5. Watch History in Motion on DVD: From Steve McQueen blasting through San Francisco in a green Mustang Fastback and Martin Sheen cruise through the desert in a chopped 3-window Ford to witnessing the iconic Parnelli Jones and George Follmer driven Boss 302 Mustangs capture the Trans-Am Championship, some of our strongest collective automotive memories are now available on DVD from The Petersen. Pick up a copy of The California Kid, Bullitt, The History of Trans-Am and more and watch them on Christmas or anytime you want to smell smoldering tires from the comfort of your couch.

4. Petersen Round Door Christmas Ornament: This Petersen Christmas Ornament pays tribute to the 1925/1934 "Round Door" Rolls Royce, arguably one of the most unique cars in the museum's collection. This rare Rolls Royce was a custom build for the Raja of Nanpara, then it was sent toJonckheere of Belgium to be stripped of its cabriolet body and fitted with fashionably aerodynamic coachwork complete with twin sunroofs, a large fin, a sloping radiator shell, and round doors. Now you can hang this priceless artifact from your tree.
