SAN DIEGO, Jan. 22, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Americans are being encouraged to get their green home in order in 2013 in return for tax credits, with the Government announcing the re-introduction of the tax rebate on window film installations.
Homeowners who have purchased and installed window films that meet the energy efficient criteria from 1st January 2012, or who do so in 2013, are eligible to claim the tax rebate: a limit of 10% of the cost of the installation up to a maximum of $500.

This tax credit forms part of The American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012, the law passed on January 2nd, 2013, which credits homeowners who make energy efficient improvements to their homes such as adding insulation, energy efficient heating and air conditioning systems in addition to sustainable exterior windows (section 401).
American businesses can also get in on the green window act for the chance to save through EPAct[1], which provides tax incentives for installing specific energy improvements to commercial building property, in force until 12/31/2013.
