Law Technology News Announces Winners of 10th Annual LTN Innovation Awards


NEW YORK, Jan. 22, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ALM's Law Technology News today announced the winners of the 2012 LTN Innovation Awards, which recognizes outstanding achievement by legal professionals in their use of technology.

The winners of the 10th annual LTN Innovation Awards are:

  • Champion of Technology – John Mayer (executive director of the Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction)
  • CIO of the Year – Neeraj Rajpal (Morrison & Foerster)
  • Most Innovative Use of Technology in a Corporation – Cisco Systems Inc.'s Compliance Department
  • Most Innovative Use of Technology in a Large Law Firm – Squire Sanders
  • Most Innovative Use of Technology in a Small Law Firm – Burton Law
  • Most Innovative Use of Technology in a Pro Bono Project – Seyfarth Shaw

This year's winners demonstrated a diversity of projects and leadership, the judges stated. "Law Technology News applauds the creativity and determination of the winners, who inspire all of us to keep striving to find innovative uses of technology to serve our community," said Monica Bay, editor-in-chief.

The winners will be recognized at a ceremony at LegalTech New York, on Thursday, Jan. 31, at 9 a.m., just prior to the keynote address by Charles Duhigg, best-selling author of The Power of Habit.

LegalTech New York 2013, the premier legal technology event of the year, takes place January 29 – January 31, 2013, at The Hilton New York in midtown Manhattan. Award nominations for all six categories were solicited from the magazine's subscribers and through the publication's website. For the 10th year, the award recipients were selected by an independent panel of three judges, all members of LTN's Editorial Advisory Board. They are: Andrew Adkins III of Steptoe & Johnson PLLC; Fredric Lederer of the Center for Legal and Court Technology at William & Mary Law School; and David Whelan of the Law Society of Upper Canada.
