LS9 Appoints Tjerk de Ruiter as President and Chief Executive Officer

Ed Dineen to Remain on the LS9 Board of Directors


SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Jan. 23, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LS9, Inc., a technology leader in the development of renewable and sustainable chemicals and fuels, today announced the appointment of Tjerk de Ruiter as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. de Ruiter joined LS9 as Chairman of the Board in August 2012 and will maintain that position. Ed Dineen, who has served as CEO of LS9 since December 2010, will remain a member of LS9's board of directors.

Mr. de Ruiter's experience includes twelve years at Danisco A/S, including his last five years with the company as the CEO of Genencor, a leading platform technology company. Prior, he held a number of leadership positions at Danisco including Chief Operating Officer Cultures, Specialities and Flavors and Senior Vice President Global Sales and Marketing. In 2004, he was named to the Danisco Executive Committee. Mr. de Ruiter started his career in the flavor and fragrance industry and held multiple positions in both Europe and North America at Quest International. Mr. de Ruiter holds a Masters of International Management from the American Graduate School of International Management, Thunderbird, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Nijenrode University in Breukelen, Netherlands.
